Our Founder, Pip Seldon had the opportunity to share her personal story and the work the HTP team are doing to build a healthier construction industry - mind and body, on The House of Wellness. Watch it here!
Australia loses one construction worker every two days to suicide.
The Healthy Tradie Project is a movement directed toward suicide prevention. We are focused on proactively building a healthier construction industry - mind and body.
As a Tradie, your body is your best asset!
We teach the principles of movement to increase mobility and flexibility reducing the potential for injury.
We teach mindfulness and breathwork; tools that can be used to manage mindset and your response to the stress and pressure of construction.
We teach you the role nutrition plays in optimising performance and the importance of recovery through quality sleep, play and social connection.
We take a proactive approach to WHS and the prevention of suicide, creating a physically and psychologically safe workplace with customised wellness programs, toolbox talks and pre-start movement or breathwork sessions optimising every aspect of the construction industry's most valuable asset: people.
Over a decade working in the construction industry, Pip brings her lived experience to the Healthy Tradie Project to give blue collar workers the tools they need to thrive in construction.
As a Health and Nutrition Coach, Breathwork and Yoga Practitioner she believes a healthier construction industry will have a positive influence on safety and suicide prevention amongst blue collar workers.
"It's time to disrupt the construction industry, swapping out the old school, unhealthy habits for healthier options. My legacy is to create a healthier environment for all those who will follow in my footsteps and choose construction as their career in the future."
Strength & Conditioning Coach & Yoga Teacher (Canberra)
The guy making yoga accessible to everyone, particularly tradies!
"Yoga provides a powerful physical practice whilst also improving core strength, flexibility, mobility and balance. But it's the hidden benefits of yoga, like tools to better cope with stress, creating connection with your body and increased mental strength and discipline that have encouraged me to bring the practice of yoga to my daily life."

Working in construction for over 25 years, Luke knows first-hand the pressure and stress that comes with a life in construction.
After experiencing mental and physical burnout, Luke turned his life around with a regular yoga, breathwork and mindfulness practice and now as a Practitioner, Luke holds space for others wanting to experience the life changing benefits of meditation and breathwork.
"This daily practice has been a life changer for me!"
